Mothers Day, as with many holidays these days has become very commercialised which has led to an increase in the number of gifts and flowers. Anna Jarvis, the woman credited with creating the modern form of Mothers Day actually denounced what the holiday had become and by her death had begun to hate what she called a "hallmark holiday".
